Summary of functionality

Aluminium 14.00 – advisory notes and costing to plant outside of work – went live at the end of March. This release has some pretty cool value-adds, including the following:

[FEAT] Add alert to personal and manager dashboards to alert users when they have open leave action tasks

Add new alert panel to manager/payroll dashboards to advise if they have active leave action requests.

[MAJOR FEAT] New advisory notes

The advisory note feature introduces the means to show relevant notes for a user each payrun, so payroll does not have to remember or search for notes such as: “User has special agreement allowing to work outside of span and weekends without getting any overtime rates.”

These ‘notes’ allow for information to be added against a staff profile; this note will then be shown on timesheets and relevant reports, hence the term advisory.

Advisory notes have start and end dates, and allow for display options to control where they appear and who can see them. This includes if they appear in the Timesheets details check report.

Additional functionality in this release allows for setting recurring notifications of staff profile notes and setting target users for receiving notifications.

[MAJOR FEAT] Create ability to cost to plant outside of worked hours

This provides the ability to flag a plant item as able to be costed to outside of worked hours. Then, if a user has access to that plant, gives them the ability to select the plant to cost to, both as part of worked hours (as current) and also select the plant item from the timesheet and add hours/mileage directly – similar to how users can cost to an ad hoc allowance.

This includes the link to the plant sheet as relevant.

[FEAT] Filters on all comments modal

This provides the ability to filter the comments made in a timesheet by comment type in the all comments modal.

Handy? Yes, it is.

[FEAT] Show comments on excess-time page

This adds the ability to view the detailed comments directly on the excess time page, even if the comment was made against work-orders.

No more having to go and look at the comments to figure out why they did the overtime.

[FIX] Fix issue with wrong balance calculations when editing leave requests

When users edit an existing leave request and the edited leave request calculates the balance of the leave request, it requires the user to have a balance that exceeds the existing leave request and the edited leave request in order to pass the validation requirements.

What should happen is when a leave request is edited, the validation after the calculation should check the balance of the leave type for that user based on the user’s balance (available) plus the balance of the leave request that is being edited.

For example if a user has an available annual leave balance of 12 hours and they have an existing leave request for one day of 8 hours then if they edit that leave request to be two days or 16 hours then because the 16 hours is less than the 8 hours (used for the existing leave request) and the 12 hours they have in their available balance.

Before this, the edited leave request cannot be submitted as the edited leave request exceeds the balance the user has left, even though if the leave request was approved the user would have balance remaining as they would have 4 hours left (8 + 12 – 16 = 4)

[FEAT] Allow plant coordinators to access plant reports

Exactly what it says.

This one is mostly about us – doing stuff behind the scenes and a bunch of functionality to improve load speeds and workflow management across the existing mobile app. Also, to make the conversion to Silicon workflows less intensive.

The other Silicon tide over (part 2). This one is exciting. It’s full of cool functionality but also getting this one live means we can get Silicon into test, and that is awesome.
